Peter Sham (book & lyrics)
Perhaps best known internationally for his work as book writer/lyricist for the Olivier-nominated Lend Me A Tenor: The Musical (Brad Carroll, composer), which celebrated a successful run at the Gielgud Theatre on London’s West End in 2011. The musical received thirteen broadwayworld.com West End Award nominations, including “Best Musical,” and was the winner of The Critic’s Choice Award for “Best Theatrical Event.”
With Kevin Purcell, Peter has recently been commissioned to write The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (Producer: Kenneth Hoyt) adapted from the novel by R. A. Dick, to premiere in the UK in 2027, Peter is Professor of Theatre at Southern Utah University.

As a musical director, Kevin has previously been associated with the original production of CATS (1995-96) at the New London Theatre as well as for the South Korean Premiere production (2003).
More recently Kevin has conducted Wicked at London’s Apollo Victoria theatre and was the originating musical director for the first national UK/Eire tour (2013).
As a multi-award-winning conductor, Kevin is much sought after for his American Songbook orchestrations which have been performed by the National Symphony Orchestra (Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts), New York City Opera, New York Pops, Boston Pops and by artists including Marvin Hamlisch, Stephen Schwartz, Kristin Chenoweth and many others.
His previous musicals include, Rebecca (2004), The Last Flight (2013); New York Music Theatre Festival Grand Jury Selection; 2018 2nd. Florida Festival of New Musicals) and Castle Gillian: An Irish Tale (2022) which has also been adapted into the world’s first, 360° Virtual Reality musical, garnering eight major international film festivals awards, including at Cannes.
THE STORY
Setting: The French Riviera, 1955.
John Robie, a retired jewel thief known as 'Le Chat', now living quietly near Cannes after being granted amnesty for fighting with the Maquis during the War, is forced out of retirement to find a copycat burglar who has surfaced imitating his larcenous past. Every pickpocket and petty thief on the French Riviera is being rounded up by the police, including Robie's wartime comrades. An unexpected twist is thrown into his plans to quickly uncover this unwelcome copycat when he meets a rich American tourist, Francie Stevens, who becomes his unwitting ally.
Now, as he desperately tries to catch this imposter and put his notorious past behind him, Robie finds himself precariously on the edge–trying to protect his Maquis friends from being framed for heists he is believed to have committed, evading the French police and the threat of returning to prison and, worse still, falling in love.
